English language examination at the Master's course

1. Translation of the specialty text into Russian (with dictionary) of 2500-3000 printed characters and retelling of the given information in English. Students have 45 minutes to prepare.

2. Reading aloud and translating specialty text into Russian (without dictionary and preparation).

3. Spoken review of an article from periodicals in English on the contemporary issues. Students have 15 minutes to prepare.

NB! During the academic year, taking into account regular attendance at classes and weekly assignments, master students must complete a number of lexico-grammatical tests, and have a talk on specialised literature recommended by their academic supervisor for exam preparation at least once a semester. The volume of literature read during the academic year in the specialty should be about 100 pages. For the exam, it is necessary to submit a list of literature recommended by the academic supervisor and an abstract of 7-8 pages with 50-60 pages of text from this list. The grade for the abstract and spoken report on the specialty is taken into account when deducing the final grade for the exam.
